If you miss the test today, you will NOT be able to take it during club tomorrow because there is no club day this week. Three options for you: 1) Take it after school today, 2) Take it Wednesday morning before school, or 3) Take it the Monday we return from fall break after school. If it is not taken by then, it will be a zero in IC. If you go with option 2, you need to report to my classroom no later than 7:50 tomorrow morning. I will not be staying after school tomorrow for test make-ups.
Today you are taking a test over The Crucible. Yes, you need a pencil.

If you missed it, I placed a copy of the test via the above button link from last night around 7 to around 8 this morning. Sorry if you missed it. Yes, it was almost the exact same test given today. It pays to check the blog!
Today we took a quiz over Act 4 of The Crucible. Then, we answered and discussed the following:
A)What was your reaction to the choice that John Proctor made at the end of the story? Were you surprised by his actions or did you predict that’s what would happen? B)Do you think most people in this room would sign a false confession to save their lives? Explain why you think so. C)Do you think most of the teachers in this school would sign to save their lives? Why? Name a few whom you think would not sign. D)Would you sign a false confession to something horrible in order to save your own life? Why? E)Using what you know from the play and about the Puritans , why do you think John Proctor chose not to save his life by signing the confession? F)Kind of a totally different direction here, but write a brief response to the overall story of The Crucible. Discuss why you did or did not like this story. If you had to sum up the theme (or the message) of this story in a 4 word sentence, what would it be? I) Why do you think so many people in Salem were willing to support the arrests, trials, and executions that took place? Remember, you have a test over the whole play tomorrow! Check back here this evening for some study tips for the test. Today we finished reading Act 4 of The Crucible. If you missed school today, you will need to make this reading up during class on Monday.
The final test over The Crucible is on Tuesday! Today we took a quiz over Act 3 of The Crucible. If you missed it, you need to stay tomorrow or Monday and take a makeup version of it. After the quiz, we had a class discussion over the question on the attached .ppt file, then began reading Act 4. (We did not get very far, though.) ![]()
Today you are back on the computers. Hopefully, all will run smoothly this time. If you did not have luck last Friday, then today we are giving it another go. For starters, try this online method of accessing OneNote instead of the computer software. open the attached file and follow the step-by-step instructions. Please make certain to FOLLOW the instructions. If you do not do so, your grade will be affected. ![]()
Some of you created the notebook successfully but did not share it the correct way. If you did not email me a share link (and instead sent me an invitation), then you did not follow the instructions. You need to do this correctly or you will NOT be getting a grade for this activity! Due tomorrow is the following worksheet: ![]()
Today we are finishing Act 3. If you need a copy of it, click the link below to download. At the end of the act, you need to answer the following questions to turn in tomorrow: Comp Check, 2, 3, 4, and 6. REMEMBER: Tomorrow you must have a personal Microsoft account to complete our in-class activity in the computer lab! Yes, this will affect your grade if you are unable to complete the activity because you have not taken care of this small task in the past four days. Several of you did poorly on the Act 2 quiz over The Crucible. (And others of you did very well.)
Because of extended time in the library to work on your PSA project, a large portion of Act 2 was read on your own. Apparently, some of you chose not to finish reading it. If you were one of the people who scored low on the quiz and would like a chance to re-take it, you need to do two things: A) Actually read Act 2 B) Come by my room after school on Sept. 25 Today we are discussing your replies to last week's writing prompts. That is followed by a review over the events of Act 2. If you miss today, be sure you know the following:
•Why did John Proctor fuss at Elizabeth Proctor? •Why did Elizabeth Proctor fuss at John? •To what did John compare his wife’s justice? •We learn in Act 2 that how many have been arrested for witchcraft? •Why was Reverend Hale visiting homes? •What did he ask John Proctor to recite? •Why did he ask Proctor to do this? •Which Commandment was Proctor unable to remember? •Who shows up and announces his wife has been arrested? •Which very respectable elder in the community is surprisingly arrested? •What is the charge Abigail Williams brings against Elizabeth? •What “evidence” incriminates Elizabeth? Tomorrow we will finish Act 3. If not in class, the remaining section will be sent home with you. If you were unable to complete the OneNote activity from Friday, dob't panic. We will spend a little bit of time in class this Wednesday to help everyone get caught up with those who had success. Before Wednesday, however, you MUST make sure that you created a personal Microsoft account. This is vital, and you may not be able to complete the activity without one, and thus you cannot get a grade for it.
