Today we are in the library, on the computers. You were told about two assignments yesterday that are due this Friday. For the first, refer to yesterday's post for specifics. For the newspaper article, here ya go:
You have in your hand the name of a trial from history. Some are recent and some from way in the past. If, after a little research, you want to trade, you may do so with either a classmate or Mr. Tucker. Your task is to spend some time today researching the specifics of the trial and begin forming a simple report on it. The finished product will be due at the beginning of class on Friday. It must appear as the front page story of a newspaper. Write the story as though it IS news—in that year. Here are the guidelines:
-It must be a complete report of the trial, formatted into a newspaper page.
-It should contain a picture that goes with the trial.
-Your name should be written on the back of the paper.
-The front page should contain at least two more story leads that might have run at the time of your trial.
-The story should make clear:
* Who is on trial
* What the accusations are
* Important/Unique information about the trial
* What the verdict was
* Public reaction to the verdict
--If you are not in class today, email me for your topic! This is due on Friday regardless of any missed days this week!
